The impact of poor compressed air quality on painting operations

In current painting operations, compressed air is mainly used as the power source, and the method of atomizing paint through a spray gun using the airflow of compressed air is widely used in various industries such as automobiles, hardware, furniture, etc. It can be said that it is a spraying method that is easy to operate, easy to change colors, high production efficiency, good atomization effect, and can obtain high-quality surfaces.

Due to the fact that compressed air comes into contact with coatings, it is necessary to ensure that the compressed air supplied to the spray gun is dry, oil-free, anhydrous, and free of impurities during painting operations. Otherwise, it will seriously affect the quality of the coating. The quality of compressed air plays an important role in pursuing high-quality painting effects Key role.

The poor quality of compressed air, which contains oil, moisture, and particulate impurities, can seriously affect the surface quality of the coating film. It is easy to have fish eyes (beads), bubbles, shrinkage holes, poor adhesion of the coating film, and rust during the coating operation. This not only directly affects the appearance of the coating film, but also directly affects the first pass rate of the coating. Even ordinary polishing and polishing methods cannot eliminate it. Therefore, rework can only be carried out to add additional pressure to the painting workshop. If the problem of compressed air quality is not fundamentally solved, such situations will repeatedly occur, wasting a large amount of resources and costs for enterprises, and reducing the profits and production efficiency that enterprises should have. In this era of pursuing efficiency and cost, it is necessary to pay attention to all relevant details in order to improve the core competitiveness of the enterprise.

The painting industry has high requirements for compressed air quality, requiring the removal of solid particles and oil to be quite clean and thorough. The removal of moisture needs to reach the drying level of instrument air. Only in this way can the production process of the painting production line be guaranteed and the yield rate be greatly improved. To ensure coating quality and prevent coating defects such as fish eyes, particles, and uneven spraying, the coating industry standard requires that the pressure dew point of compressed air should be below -40 ℃ (level 2), and the dust particles should be less than 0.5-1 μ, The oil content shall not exceed 0.01mg/m3.

The solid particle impurities and oil content in compressed air need to be purified by precision filters. The moisture in compressed air needs to be dried by a dryer. There are two types of dryers on the market: freeze-type dryers and adsorption dryers. Due to technical limitations, freeze-type dryers can only achieve a pressure dew point of+2 ℃ or above, which cannot meet the quality requirements of compressed air in the painting industry. When choosing a dryer, It is necessary to choose an adsorption dryer. Currently, the purification of solid impurities, dust, and oil in compressed air in China is very mature, but the problem of moisture has not been effectively solved. Currently, only mold core adsorption dryers and a few double tower adsorption dryers can meet the industry standards for coating gas.
