When the filter is in operation, the water that needs to be filtered enters through the inlet, flows through the filter and filter, and then enters the collector through the outlet. The collected water particles and impurities are trapped inside the filter. The rapid development of industry has led to increasingly serious pollution of water resources, and people use filters to filter and sterilize the water they use. Below, we will provide a detailed introduction to the working principle and usage instructions of filters.

[Internal structure of filter]

The quartz sand filter is filled with refined quartz sand. When water flows through the filter layer from above, some of the solid suspended substances in the water enter the upper layer of the filter material to form small pores, which are intercepted by the surface layer of the filter material due to mechanical retention.

In addition, due to the close arrangement of filter media, suspended particles in water have more opportunities and time to collide and contact with the surface of the filter media when they pass through the curved pores in the filter media. As a result, suspended particles in water adhere to the flocs on the particle surface of the filter media, further purifying the water. The filter can be regenerated through regular backwashing, and the process of operation backwashing washing operation of the filter is completed by opening and closing relevant valves.

The quartz sand filter has a simple structure, convenient operation and maintenance, and can achieve automatic control during operation. It has high filtration efficiency, low resistance, large processing flow rate, and fewer backwashing times. Widely used in the pre-treatment of water quality in pure water, food and beverage water, mineral water, electronics, printing and dyeing, papermaking, and chemical industries, as well as the filtration of industrial wastewater after secondary treatment. It is also used for deep filtration in reclaimed water reuse systems and swimming pool circulating water treatment systems. It also has a good removal effect on suspended solids in industrial wastewater.

What are the functions of filters

A multimedia filter is a type of filter that uses one or more built-in filtering materials (filtering media) to trap and remove suspended solids, organic matter, colloidal particles, microorganisms, chloride ions, odors, and other substances in water under a certain pressure.

The commonly used filtering media for multimedia filters include quartz sand, anthracite filter media, manganese sand filter media, activated carbon, ceramic filter media, etc. Further purification of water is carried out by filtering, allowing the water to pass through the filter material layer and retain fine particulate impurities, thereby further clarifying and purifying the water and reducing its turbidity. Filtering can also remove a large amount of organic substances, bacteria, viruses, etc. from water as the turbidity decreases, creating good conditions for disinfection after filtration.

Quartz sand can be considered a standard configuration for multimedia filters. Quartz sand is combined with filter containers to intercept suspended particles, colloids, and other particulate impurities in water, thereby playing a filtering role. Regular backwashing should be carried out during use to prevent the loss of quartz sand.
